PANEL: Linking National Robotics Ecosystems to International Trade: Lessons Learned from Cluster Builders
April 2, 2025 | 09:30 - 10:45
Hall 2 - Canadian Pavilion Mainstage, Hannover Messe Fairgrounds
This panel brings together leading industry leaders, policymakers and researchers from Canada, Germany and Denmark to explore strategies for linking national robotics ecosystems to international trade, including the role of cluster-to-cluster partnerships.
New partnerships will be announced during this session.
Drawing from case studies and real-world examples, panelists will discuss the critical role of cluster-building initiatives in fostering innovation, workforce development, market access and international trade. Topics will include:

-
Robotics cluster formation: Why and how they grow, who leads them
-
Cluster strategy: Why have a robotics strategy in addition to an AI strategy and/or market-specific strategies (e.g. advanced manufacturing)
-
Robotics adoption strategies & funding strategies
-
National strengths

SIDE EVENTS
March 31 - April 4, Hall 7, D28

Mechatronics booth: NGen, Festo Didactic and Humber Polytechnic are partnering to demonstrate the strength of Canadian mechatronics skills at Hannover Messe. This collaboration features a skills competition showcasing top students from leading Canadian post-secondary institutions including Humber Polytechnic, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and Conestoga College.
Robogoalie: Students from Banting Memorial High School have designed and built an AI powered Robo Goalie, an interactive demo that invites visitors to see if they can beat the Robo Goalie, a fun machine designed to protect the net. Guests are invited to take shots on the bot. Using AI, the robot adapts its movements to challenge each player. The experience could be enhanced with touchscreens or AR interfaces, where participants can tweak the robot's settings—adjusting its difficulty level, speed, and even its reaction time.
